Development Project Scientist/Engineer

Will Consider Relocation to Windsor CT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSABILITIES:
- Responsible for development projects involving web-based thin films products.
- Responsible for documentation of new processes and products as well as improvements on existing processes.
- Write and maintain manufacturing work instructions associated with these processes and products.
- Will use knowledge of engineering principles to make and/or implement design, material and method recommendations.
- Manage projects for the implementation and validation of changes to products and/or processes.
- Verify supplier conformance on critical components to ensure specifications are met. If necessary, oversee or performs the installation of components.
- Interface with customers and suppliers in identifying possibilities for solution to requirements.
- Support TML production, as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a BS in Physic, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent degree program.
5 years work experience in roll to roll processing and PVD are desired.
A proven track record of rigorous problem solving acumen.
Strong, working knowledge of PVD and Spectroscopy.
Background in Lean Six Sigma, TQM, or equivalent technical quality system.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to: Development Manager
Supervisory: None, but position is expected to work closely with and give guidance to machine operators and fabrication specialists.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand/sit, reach and move about the facility.
Light to moderate physical effort required.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Safety Shoes must be worn on the Production Floor.
Lab Coats are provided
Hearing Protection Available for Production Floor
Safety glasses – see policy

WORK ENVIROMENT:
Work performed in office, clean room or production environment.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
